Morning Coffee

We received “Morning Coffee” yesterday from the framer and it’s now in a special place we reserved for it.  Of this painting it has been said:

“Morning Coffee captures a moment in time; a physical moment hanging by that thread of white smoke lingering on the empty space.  Time in the painting slows down, and it has the power to slow time for the viewer. We are taken into this journey and everything else disappears around us. The girl is beautiful and beauty is innocent. She is unaware of what is to come from the darkness of that empty space in front of her yet she is calm. She is not afraid of that darkness. She is taking a moment to think, to focus, to live.”

The picture is one of the latest works by Atanas Matsoureff, an artist that made me redefine my concepts of watercolor painting.
He has not only the skill but also the talent to be a significant painter and, without a doubt, all that is needed to become a world-renowned artist. I am optimistic for his professional future and his future contributions to the art scene.  Atanas lives and works in Bulgaria and I am honored to call him my friend. Thank you Atanas for sharing with us a wonderful work of art!

"The beauty of watercolor painting lies in the white of the paper, the lightness, the movement, the transparency, the vibrant colors. I paint from nature and I bow before the beauty and the forces of the Nature and the simple, ordinary things around us. I try to catch the spirit of each material and to touch the thing beyond reality."
